Our Mission
At Simply Grounded Yoga/Pilates, our mission is to create accessible, trauma‑informed spaces where healing feels possible, safe, and deeply human. We integrate yoga therapy, somatic practices, and emerging neuroscience with the lived wisdom of each person we serve.
We specialize in supporting individuals healing from trauma in all its forms — personal, relational, systemic, and historical. Trauma can leave us feeling disconnected from our bodies, unsure of our worth, and searching for external validation. Our work centers on helping clients rebuild a compassionate relationship with themselves, one grounded in safety, choice, and nervous system regulation.
Through personalized yoga therapy interventions and clinical experience in recovery settings, we empower clients to reconnect with their bodies, cultivate inner strength, and develop sustainable self‑regulation skills. Healing is not about perfection — it’s about presence, curiosity, and reclaiming the parts of ourselves that learned to survive.
Simply Grounded is a place to come home to yourself. A place where your story is honored, your nervous system is supported, and your healing unfolds at the pace your body can hold. We invite you to join us on this transformative journey toward connection, resilience, and self‑discovery.

My Story
Stephanie Lizotte
I’m Stephanie, founder of Simply Grounded Yoga/Pilates, certified yoga therapist (C‑IAYT), and graduate social work student specializing in trauma-informed, body-based healing. My story is woven from movement, family, and the quiet resilience that comes from learning to listen to the body. My approach blends evidence-informed somatic practices with a deeply human understanding of what it means to navigate stress, trauma, and life transitions. I’ve spent years discovering that healing doesn’t happen in grand gestures; it happens in the small moments. Outside of my professional work, I’m a wife, a mother of two adult children, and a grandmother to a little boy who brings immeasurable joy into my life.
Nature is my grounding place — whether I’m hiking, running, or exploring trails with my husband and our two dogs. I also love cooking and experimenting with new recipes, especially when shared with friends who continually inspire and support me.
Simply Grounded is built from these pieces of my life: movement, connection, curiosity, and compassion. My mission is to create accessible, welcoming spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies, build resilience, and feel supported in their healing journey. Simply Grounded is that space. A place where you can arrive exactly as you are and feel welcomed, supported, and seen.
My Expertise
At Simply Grounded Yoga/Pilates, Stephanie brings a deeply integrative approach to healing—one that blends her expertise as a certified yoga therapist with her growing clinical experience as a Recovery Therapist and her ongoing study of neuroscience and somatic psychology.
Her work is rooted in the understanding that the nervous system, trauma, and healing are profoundly interconnected. Through her internship in recovery settings, Stephanie has supported individuals navigating trauma, substance use, dissociation, chronic stress, and nervous system dysregulation. These experiences have shaped her practice into one that is both evidence‑informed and deeply human.
Stephanie’s approach honors the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Spiritual dimensions of each person. She integrates trauma‑sensitive yoga, polyvagal‑informed practices, somatic healing, and emerging neuroscience to help clients reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel safe, empowering, and culturally grounded.
Whether guiding someone through nervous system regulation, supporting individuals in recovery, or creating personalized yoga therapy programs, Stephanie meets each person exactly where they are. Her work is gentle, collaborative, and rooted in compassion—designed to help you find balance, resilience, and a sense of home within yourself.
